Love that Pursues

I sat with my computer in my lap for literally 30 minutes thinking about what to blog about. I've missed blogging. I really have. I love to do it. Writing is an outlet for me that helps me process. It also helps me practice gratitude.  When I take the time to write, I am refreshed. So, all this to say, hello again Pierced. I've missed you. What to blog about since I haven't written in months....The birth of my precious little doll Evelina Joy? Our trip to Florida? Christmas? Ahhhh! There's so much. This is the exact reason I haven't written. I've decided if I want to play catch up and blog about all that's passed, I will continue in this writers block forever. So instead I'll write about today!

Today my cousin (well, by marriage, but she's my cousin now!!!) Cari, took Austin and Jonathan to the Dallas World Aquarium. They had a BLAST. All of them. After hearing Cari's report of the day, I think she may have even had more fun than the boys did.

Check out the background! It's a real shark!

Who would have known that the dude cleaning the aquarium would be among the highlights of the day!

The day was filled with memories that I am certain the boys will carry with them for a long time. However, what moves me the most about today is Cari's deep genuine love for the boys. As she recounted the day for me, she said several times, "Your boys are sooo sweet. I just love them!" Those of you who know her can picture it - her head tilted back and her words filled with laughter. Her love for them is just precious. And it's so very mutual. They adore her (and her hubby "Big Mike")! I am moved by this love. A couple weeks ago, Cari pulled out her calendar and said, "I need time with your boys. Lets put it on the calendar." You see, she pursues them. Investing in a relationship with them is a priority. I shared with her today about how special that is for me as a momma. I love that others love my kids. I believe their lives will be richer because they have been gifted with Aunt Cari's pursuing love. I hope it teaches them a little more on how to love well. Because Aunt Cari - she loves well!

P.S.
What's the saying? While the cats away the mice well play?!?! It kind of applies today! Cari's car had malfunctioning seat belt, so she had to take my van. And I well, I had to drive what she was driving!
